Little Star Fitness provides….

Fun, innovative, sport fitness and dance programs, birthday party and corporate entertainment specifically designed for children between the ages of 2-12. Our main focus is to improve children’s gross and fine motor skills, coordination, and rhythm whilst building the children’s self-confidence in a fun and non-competitive environment. Children who participate in Little Star Fitness sessions will further develop their love for physical activity, dance and sport, assist with living a healthy lifestyle, decrease childhood obesity and increase confidence in all aspects of their life. All classes and birthday parties are delivered in English; however, we do have coaches available that speak a variety of languages.

Chanté Steenkamp

Owner Little Star Fitness NL

Chanté took part in sports from a young age various sports from a young age. In 2016 Chanté moved from South Africa to the Netherlands, after finishing high school, to pursue her dream to work with children. Since she started working for Little Star Fitness in 2017, during these 4 years she had the opportunity to experience how children grow and develop their skills and confidence. This in turn fuelled her passion as a Sports coach. Chanté is focused on helping children to progress and development their skills while participating in fun sports activities. She also thrives on the enjoyment of seeing how children grow through these activities. Chanté is also currently busy with a Bachelors in International Business and Innovation.

Michelle Murphy

Founder of Little Star Fitness
Little Star Fitness founder and owner Michelle Murphy has a life long commitment to having fun & being healthy. Michelle has been involved in sport from a young age, her commitment, love and dedication has seen Michelle become an Australian national champion in Swimming at the age of 12, represent her state in Netball and her greatest achievements to date was representing Australia in Touch Football. Aside from her sporting career, Michelle graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a degree in Human Movement Studies and later received her Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Physical Education). Michelle has spent the past 9 years educating children as a Health and Physical Education teacher in Australia, during which time she obtained her Level 1 Coaching Certificates in Volleyball, Touch Football, Track & Field, Cricket and Netball. Prior to Michelle’s teaching career, she spent 6 years in the health and fitness industry gaining qualifications as a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and Massage Therapist. Michelle is a passionate and highly qualified educator who delivers fun filled sport programs for children, in a safe and friendly group environment.

TK Roberts

Sport, Circus & Nutrition Coach
Originally from Texas, TK Roberts moved to Amsterdam at the age of 16. Sports and nutrition have always been important to her. She started doing gymnastics at the age of 3, working her way up to training 25-35 hours a week at one of the most prestigious gymnastics schools in Texas. She participated at a high level in state and southern US regional competitions. At this level, nutrition is very important in maintaining athletic capability and general health. Academia taking precedence for the time being, she continued her sports journey by training at a gym at least five times a week. Then in 2015, she discovered aerial silks. Ever since, she has continued her circus training by training in and teaching different circus disciplines, also performing at many events and festivals. In addition, she has completed a teacher training for aerial silks and a pre-training certification for gyrotonics, an exercise method that uses fluid movement and breathing to increase mobility and joint stability. She is also certified in teaching gymnastics. From a young age, TK has a lot of experience working with and caring for groups of children. In high school she taught children’s gymnastics, and in her role as volunteer at a Battered Women’s Shelter she took care of groups of up to 20 children. In Amsterdam she worked as a part-time nanny for numerous families and started her own photography company specialising in children’s and family portraits. Finally, having lived in four different countries, volunteering
in a study abroad programme in high school and her photography business’ clients often being expats, she has a lot of experience working with international families. She started working for Little Star Fitness in 2016, finding a place where all of her talents and experience could be applied. With great
enthusiasm, she continues to develop creative ways for engaging and interacting with children to expose them to the wonderful world of nutrition, sports and circus.

Nicole Blasman

Sports & Nutrition Coach
Born and raised near Utrecht, the Netherlands. During the past 14 years Nicole and her family moved 5 times between 3 countries. For the past 5 years she has lived in the Amsterdam area. Nicole has always been passionate about sports. During her teenage years she played volleyball at high level. Due to asthma she had to stop playing volleyball at the age of 18 but never stopped exercising. Running, pilates and body pump are her passion besides her sons. For the past 10 years she has been actively involved in the schools her sons attended. Every field trip or camp she volunteered to chaperone. But now with 2 boys in high school she was looking for another passion which she found as a sport coach. Since September 2016, Nicole has been actively coaching and educating children about the importance of fitness and nutrition in school settings. She loves spending time with children of all ages.

Tania Kotze

Sports & Nutrition Coach
Born and raised in Lichtenburg South-Africa Tania has been a sports fanatic from a young age. Starting in primary school she took part in athletics, tennis, swimming and netball. This was the starting point of a very successful sporting career. During her High school years she was selected to represent her province in Athletics at the South African Athletics Championships from the age of 14. In her final year she was selected for the SA Athletics school team. Tania was awarded a full sport scholarship from the University of Potchefstoom specializing in Physical Education. She also excelled in Netball and Athletics qualifying for Senior Provincial colours and chosen for the SA team in Netball. After graduation she went abroad and work as an au-pair in The Netherlands. She also taught PE at the local primary school in Voorschoten. Upon returning back to South-Africa Tania started teaching at a rural school. (teaching Afrikaans and Geography) and later she joined the International School of South-Africa, where she stayed for almost 15 years. As far as extra-mural sporting activities are concerned, this is where Tania truly comes into her own. Tania played a major role in developing netball, korfball and athletics at the International School of South Africa. Most specially, she has had tremendous success at national level with the development of the korfball players. Some of these went on to have the enviable opportunity of representing their country at the Korfball World cups. Tania also gained national colours as a player as well as a selector. Tania love working with children and doing sport. But most of all she loves watching kids changing and developing into young confident adults .

Tom Blasman

Sports Coach
The first 5 years of Tom’s life were spent in the USA, Chicago area. He then travelled back to The Netherlands and again moved to Prague where he made his final move back to The Netherlands 6 years ago. Tom has always been very active in sports, with his most recent sporting success being selected in the Dutch national youth Ultimate Frisbee team. Sport is Tom’s passion and loves educating and helping children of all ages.

Mirelle Oudejans

Sports and Nutrition Coach

Born and raised in the Netherlands she has always been very active in sports. In the early years mainly gymnastics at a competitive National level, but at the age of 16 she was “too old” for gymnastics. Tennis, horse riding and running followed and even during her study – Bachelor in Marketing and Communications, sport always played an important role in her life. After leaving the Netherlands and moving to Chicago in 2000,  to work for a large advertising agency, she fulfilled her dream of completing a marathon. After finishing the Chicago marathon in 2006, she finished in ten more (international) marathons. But this wasn’t enough. She raised the bar for herself and completed two half Ironman’s (swim/bike/run). Nutrition is the fourth component of the triathlon, so she studied and received a certificate in Sports & Nutrition. Back in the Netherlands since 2011, she received her Anatomy degree, became a certified Running coach and started as Little Star Fitness Coach in 2016. She loves helping the little ones with the development of their skills. At home she is actively involved in the sport- and school performances of her two adolescent sons. Her dedication and love of sport makes her an enthusiastic and engaging coach who loves to share her knowledge and help other people and children to reach their own goals.

Li Yoffe

Sports and Nutrition Coach

Born and raised in The Netherlands in a multicultural home, Li grew up speaking 3 languages (Dutch, Hebrew and English).  She did a lot of sports growing up, from horse riding to gymnastics, Li tried them all. During her school years she did 7 years of field hockey and 3 years of competitive swimming. Li also loves to surf with the weather permits. When Li was little, she was a very active child and found her release with sport and she has never looked back. Nutrition is another very important aspect in Li’s life. 3 years ago she decided to stop eating sugar, a decision she has never regretted. Music and signing is another hobby Li does in her spare time. In March 2019, Li was lucky enough to sign in front of 1500 people along side another well known and famous signer. One thing Li loves most is helping and educating children about the importance of sport and nutrition. She hopes to pass her knowledge and experience on to other children through her work.

Kyra Koopmans

Dance Coach

Kyra was born and raised in the Netherlands.  When she was 3 years old, she started dancing.  She did many dance styles such as; ballet, tap dance, jazz and street dance. When she was 12, she focused on modern and contemporary.   She also played soccer since she was 8 years old and continues to play it today.  When she finished high school, she decided to take a gap year to do something adventurous.  She become an au pair abroad since she loves working with children.  She lived in Como Italy for 4 months and loved every minute of it! Since September 2020, she has started a study to become a PE teacher in Amsterdam. The combination of working with Little Star Fitness and her study helps her gain alot of experience. She is learning a lot on how to educate children in the right way with practising sports and having fun with doing sports.  She loves passing on the enjoyment she experiences from doing sports and dance through her work and in the future!
